Gemstone Guide
An index of the stones used across our malas — what they're associated with, and, just as importantly, what kind of claim each association is.
Every stone note on this site is labelled by kind, and we keep that labelling deliberate: Historical use means the stone has documented historical use in ritual, trade, or ornament, often long before any modern interpretation attached to it. Symbolic association means the stone carries a long-standing symbolic reading — in color, texture, or metaphor — without necessarily being tied to one documented historical practice. Modern interpretation means the association is contemporary, arising from present-day spiritual or wellness practice rather than an older textual or historical source. We think this distinction matters more than most gemstone guides let on, so we keep it visible rather than folding everything into one confident-sounding paragraph.
